SUMMARY:Webinar: Covering Climate on the Frontlines
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, Nov. 20 at noon PST (1.5 hours):  Register Here:  (https://bit.ly/4etoPO1) \nPeople worldwide are deeply affected by the crises and emergencies climate change creates\, such as fires\, floods\, heat waves\, air pollution\, and crop failure. These events can seem abstract — until you hear the stories of people who have lived through them. \nThe journalists of the Climate Disaster Project make it real by bringing you those stories from survivors worldwide. And during this year’s UN Climate Change Conference\, COP29\, they are bringing compelling survivor stories to the pages of The Guardian. \nJoin three of these reporters\, as well as The Guardian’s assistant environment editor\, as they discuss covering climate on the frontlines of its disasters — and telling the stories of its survivors with empathy\, solidarity\, and impact. \nThis free event is co-hosted by the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions and the Climate Disaster Project\, and co-sponsored by the Canadian Association of Journalists. \nModerators: Ian Mauro\, executive director\, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions\, and Sean Holman\, founding director\, Climate Disaster Project \nPanelists: \n\nBibi van der Zee\, assistant editor\, environment\, The Guardian (United Kingdom)\nKristin Engel\, journalist with the Daily Maverick’s Our Burning Planet (South\nAfrica)Ricardo Garcia\, independent environmental journalist and journalism trainer (Brazil and Portugal)\nAldyn Chwelos\, managing editor\, Climate Disaster Project
